◎简　　介 
迈克尔·斯科菲尔德正陷于无望的困境中——他的哥哥林肯·布伦斯被认定犯有谋杀罪被投入了福克斯河监狱的死囚牢。虽然所有的证据都指出林肯就是凶手，迈克尔坚信兄长是无辜的。林肯的死刑执行日越来越逼近，在没有其他选择的情况下，迈克尔持枪闯入了一家银行，被捕入狱后来到了林肯的身边。身为建筑工程师的迈克尔参与了监狱的改造工程而对这里了若指掌，他设计了完整的越狱计划，入狱的唯一目的就是要把林肯救出生天并还其清白。 
　　林肯的昔日女友维罗妮卡-多诺万是谋杀案的辩方律师，她相信林肯是被陷害的。在继续调查的过程中，维罗妮卡发现这远不是一桩单纯的谋杀案，被害人之死牵扯了许多大人物的利益——副总统的身影渐渐从幕后显现。而随着调查的深入，危险也在迫近维罗妮卡，证人相继神秘被杀，林肯的家人也遭遇不幸，而追杀维罗妮卡的神秘人物，竟然是联邦调查局的秘密探员。 
　　与此同时，迈克尔在狱中艰难地准备着越狱计划，意想不到的人和事接连出现在通向自由的道路上。
