Opening the album is "Could Have Been a Contender" - all 8|*=p4_fn  
polished pop perfection that brings back memories of the N9[2k.oBH  
jaunty hits of the Housemartins and their catalogue of KBb{Z;%  
intelligent and catchy songs. "I Think I'm Bleeding" has an cP]5Qz  
underlying country flavour to it. Whilst once again presented )=PmHUd  
as a happy little song, there is more than a touch of 3hPj;-u  
bitterness in his words. Funnily enough, the rather twee "The Uc?4!{$X  
Toothbrush Song" would also make a quality country song due to #wvmVB.5~  
its dry lyrics even if a cowboy would feel the need to OE"r=is  
accompany such emotions with bourbon rather than sparkling gmU0/z3&

The pace picks up with the title track "Off the Radar" that [xrM){ItW  
truly highlights Mr Kerr's pop sensibilities and offsets his (16U]s  
laidback vocal delivery with some spirited guitar. Loves lost HoFFce7 o  
and won (mostly lost though? and a sense of reflection on his M[Kk43;QY!  
younger years seem a common theme to the songs in this album fuwv,[
m  
and, indeed, regret is once more evident in "Is It Too Late to `!K!+`Z9  
Work for NASA" even if it is disguised here with wry humour. T\Zq/Z\  
If Bluesbunny closes his eyes, on "Mystery Star" Ally Kerr XHN`f#(w  
seems to transform himself into Edinburgh master popsters H,?)6pZ  
Dropkick and there are certainly worse things to be than that. 77:s=)   
If Bluesbunny had to pick a favourite track, it would probably U;QN+fF]u  
be "Amorino" evoking, as it does, the melancholic pleasures of => PBdW

The thing that impresses most about this album is the songs azUEp8`|  
themselves. Well crafted and melodic with sharp and observant 9O%4x"*PO  
lyrics, they are however presented as a whole lot fluffier {

than they actually are. It must be Ally Kerr's choice to do so OZw<YR  
but it does seem that he is deliberately avoiding giving any |?t6h 5Mt"  
kind of offense. Maybe he never gets angry himself - although ,r,~1oV<"  
his words suggest otherwise -but Bluesbunny feels that he is )<6zbG  
doing his own songs a disservice here by sprinkling an inch of {GaQV-t  
icing sugar on everything. It is not necessary for everything +18)e;   
in life to have a cherry on top for it to be appetising. <z>K{:+>

Overall, this is a happy, upbeat album that is just a bit too >g t_C'  
polite and well mannered to try and force itself upon your A/ eZ!"Y  
affections. The production and arrangements are smoother than =

your average Starbuck's decaf latte but it is perhaps fair (okCZ-_Jn  
comment to say that the omnipresent sugar coating will suit 0I.9m[<Fc  
his fans. However, and maybe this is a reviewer thing, a bit seFug  
of fire and even some unpredictability would have been M
