At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short UYJMW S=  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself u0^Vy#@_  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her TC7&I qT  
first song, which was about her mother, and which helped dO/iL7K&  
her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical QN`K|,}H^  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of ^2C)Wk$  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny -1'O  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, hKa<9>MI`  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering kY d'6+m  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a :iW+CD)j  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to zJC!M eN  
drop out of school at the age of eighteen. CJ+/j=i;~c

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in 39 D!e&  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical (bpO>4(S  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave HLMcOuj  
her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers ko-|hBNv  
Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with |C;8GSw>|F

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded .!#0eAT  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York 1+wmR4o  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five S0-f_,(  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians (9gL  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was Sg#$ B#g  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November x"/DCcZ  
2007 in the United States and Japan. &>Zm gz

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through bYsK|n  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she b,vSE,&xP  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January (>~:1  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, `" B

and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig H&$L1CrdL  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June q [}

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second _p;>]0cc.  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in L!:8yJK  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She >9-$E?Mt  
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band 9i9'Rd`g  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell 2H

(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson { owXyQ2mK  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine dJYsn+  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and "AN*2)e4  
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and o2AfMSt.
