簡介：
殺人無數的劊子手葉常綠 (黃德斌飾) 為保護恩公的媳婦阮素心 (姚子羚飾) 順利産子，將素心安頓在京城享負盛名的穩婆花蕊紅 (邵美琪飾) 家中，因而遇上離奇命案，常綠竟以其鬼頭刀救活了一條小生命，誰料這名來歷不明的男嬰令常綠和蕊紅無故捲入朝廷的【www.canton8.com不良信息过滤】漩渦，一冷一熱的配搭化解了一次又一次的危機，兩人在患難中漸生情愫；另邊廂，一對同在妓院長大的小情侶赤知秋(楊明飾) 和祝小滿 (龔嘉欣飾) 來到蕊紅家，苦苦哀求常綠收知秋為劊子手的學徒，知秋其心不正，只想藉此逃脱受刑，常綠遲疑不決，一名神秘的彩戲師司馬丑 (陳山聰飾) 出現，令各人關係陷入錯綜複雜，男嬰身分之謎更因而被逐步揭開，但同時敲起了死神的喪鐘……
