The Lodger are a musical group from Leeds, United Kingdom. The band were formed by vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Ben Siddall in mid 2004. In the summer, the band went into the studio with Alan Smyth to begin work on their debut album. 13 tracks were recorded in a week for the album, which was to be titled Grown-Ups. In October they embarked on their first headline tour of Germany. A new song Simply Left Behind popped up on an Angular compilation Future Love Songs in November. Then a version of the debut album, with an alternate tracklisting was released in Japan on Fabtone Records in December. In February 2007, the band went on their biggest UK tour to date, supporting friends The Long Blondes as well as recording a final track, Getting Special, for the album with James Ford, producer of Klaxons, Arctic Monkeys and many more. Grown-Ups is to be released in the UK on May 28th 2007 through Angular Recording Corporation and in the USA on June 4th 2007 through Slumberland Records. |Kb-oM&^#

如果你搜The Lodger的话，你可能会搜出5只乐队来，至少我知道英国有3只。加上今天的The Lodger就是4只，这是我知道的，其中2只英国乐队我有他门的专辑，一只Britpop乐队和一只独立英伦摇滚乐队。今天的这只The Lodger 是一只新兴乐队，来自英国的利兹。英国利兹有很多优秀的乐队，现在很红的就是kaiser Chiefs。可今年很少出比较优秀的乐队，所以The Lodger的出现让英国当地媒体有话可谈。给了一个标题“利兹的下一只新兴势力”。Ben Siddall是乐队的发起者，也是主唱与乐队歌曲的主要制作人。Ben Siddall最先制作的DEMO是用自己的电脑制作完成后，然后在一些咖啡厅和小酒馆开始演唱，很快他慢慢有些名气，英国一家小长牌找到他，并且愿意为他发行一张单曲，很快Ben Siddall开始找到他的俩位朋友，贝斯手Joe和鼓手Katie。这里值得提的是鼓手Katie是一位美丽的女性，专辑中的鼓点毫不逊色与男性的鼓点。就这样The Lodger迅速的组建，并且开始自己的乐队生涯，发行“Many Thanks For Your Honest Opinion”“Unsatisfied”“Watching”这些十分优秀的单曲后他们换了长牌，伦敦的一家独立长牌Angular Records 愿意为他们发行新单曲“Let Her Go”。在2006年的夏天他们开始录制自己的首张专辑，乐队搬家到谢菲尔德的录音室。说到谢菲尔德不得不提现在很红的 Arctic Monkeys ，所以公司也为The Lodger请来Arctic Monkeys 的制作人来担任专辑的后期制作。The Lodger的音乐属于慢热型的，如果只听一边的话你发现不了其中优秀的地方。专辑中的一些歌曲，The Lodger的音乐特点和Ben Siddall的嗓音来阐述的效果让我感觉到Budapest的那种凄凉的慢热英伦。虽然不多，但是那感觉也是无话可说的棒。The Lodger 不像Budapest，不像 Arctic Monkeys ，更不像kaiser Chiefs。(转自水手的soulpower) =*}| y;I
