The album will be McCartney's first release on Starbucks' Hear Music label (it is also the first release on the newly formed label). The album was produced by David Kahne and recorded at Hog Hill Mill Studios, Abbey Road Studios, Henson Recording Studios, AIR Studios, and RAK Studios between October 2003 and February 2007.
