From the intro of "Get Up" to the aptly titled "Outro", Real not only showcases the immense talents of Smith but lays an impressive groundwork for future efforts to branch off. The key? A soul-tinged, silky-smooth delivery that completely obeys the laws of pop convention to maintain accessibility and originality within the same song structures. "Get Up" is a clap-along funk-pop opener that features Smith doing his best Jason Mraz impression.
