Matchbox Twenty (originally spelled Matchbox 20 on Yourself Or Someone Like You, typeset as matchbox twenty on most official merchandise and albums) is a rock band formed in Orlando, Florida. Matchbox Twenty have sold in excess of 39 million albums worldwide from the releases of Yourself Or Someone Like You, Mad Season, and More Than You Think You Are. The current members of the band are Rob Thomas (vocals, piano), Paul Doucette (rhythm guitar - formerly drums), Kyle Cook (lead guitar, vocals) and Brian Yale (bass). Adam Gaynor (rhythm guitar) left the band in 2005, after performing on all three of their studio albums. Rob Thomas is the principal songwriter and lead singer. Exile on Mainstream is the fourth album by Matchbox Twenty and is expected to be a greatest hits album containing eleven previous hits and six new tracks that emerged from a twelve-song recording session in L.A., produced by Steve Lillywhite. According to Billboard.com, the album is due out October 2, 2007, which is only one day over eleven years after their first album, Yourself or Someone Like You was released on October 1, 1996. In the same article, Rob Thomas stated that Paul Doucette, originally the band's drummer, would be playing rhythm guitar due to Adam Gaynor's departure. m q{];
