& 专辑介绍:
Di=9mHC beZ(o?uK Since their inception, High Places have created a signature
dl l%4Sd sound out of using bass-heavy yet crisp beats, lilting vocal
noNm^hFL melodies and syncopated rhythmic lines performed on folk
zuL7%qyv percussion instruments, guitar duets turned into treated
,
fb(
WY samples, and percussive lines created from the manipulation of
?\H.S9CZ^ household objects. The songwriting is expansive and fluid, all

the while managing to be concise. High Places gravitate toward
FfM nul the organic over the electronic, and that natural aesthetic
Sl~x$9` adds warmth and intimacy to the recordings.
Ie'P#e' X;fy\HaU High Places' self-titled debut was recorded by the band's Rob
45}v^|Je\ Barber and Mary Pearson in their apartment in Brooklyn's Fort
s&*yk p Greene neighborhood. They employed a wide variety of
BIWD/|LQ instruments to make this album, ranging from the more
qeaA&(|5 traditional: 12 string guitar, banjo, shakers and rattles,
@?&Wm3x9 bass, bells and Kalimba; to the inventive: plastic bags,
EychR/s mixing bowls, wood blocks and other common household objects.
rhY_|bi4P The album has a contemplative and organic lyrical tone
K5ZnS`c; emphasized by the themes of goodness manifested in nature,
K%{ad1$c hardship and wonder as necessities to human existence and
"S(X[Y' growth. Additionally, the idea of maturation and development
OM96` is further accented through the recurring mention of trees and
'M'w,sID their extending, enveloping braches.
