to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her $-p#4^dg

her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical F7lzc )
  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of 56 [+;*  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny k@Mt8Ln  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, \I+#M-V  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering p|RFpn2ygF  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a \ wM8I-f!  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to fA" VLQE  
drop out of school at the age of eighteen. pZV=Co3!I

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in , ]H2F']4Z  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical :V ZXI#([  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave D5$|vv1

Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with h;JO"J@H

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded Gzkvj:(V  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York cTu"T

and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig n?}7vz;

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second DTo P|P  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in <Oihwr@5<  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She I'e`?H t  
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band %shCqS  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell 4o,G[Cf_  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson k4+Q$3"  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine Ux+UcBKm-  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and aU?HIIA  
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and &\L\n
