At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short S#M8}+ZD,  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself b$DiDm  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her VP A+/5TW  
first song, which was about her mother, and which helped #sc!H4  
her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical 62HA[cr&)  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of a5#G48'X  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny !=:>yWQ  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, id:,\iJ  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering 3l?|+sU>O  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a SvSO?H!-  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to zTcz+3x

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in A:(|"<lA  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical q?7''xk7  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave eV*QUjS~  
her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers ,<L4tp+y0  
Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with 16/ V5

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded gg#9I(pX  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York %J1'>nI!q  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five R7Qj<,  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians 3yRvs;nWS  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was  t/t6o&  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November legWY)4D;  
2007 in the United States and Japan. %EU_OS(u.{

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through 4|_xz;i  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she 7=N%$]DKZ  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January 9mHCms  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, "}_J"%  
and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig Kc[^Pu  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June z+.G>0M  
2008 the singer started her second tour through the o+hp#e

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second 4-[U[JJc  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in CL2zZk{u_  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She 5)f 'wVe  
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band 7a9">:~  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell TkTGYh  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson b(N+_= n  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine L$c 1<7LU  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and }2LG9B%  
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and g.Ur~5r  
will be released at the end of September 2008 by G$YF0Nc
