^$ Krub{| time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself
ssl&5AS to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her

^%#grX# her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical
gyu6YD8L taste was influenced by her father's large selection of

ZW vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny
Y=2Un).& Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father,

L who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering

U% in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a
n?E}b$6 first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to
c Zvf"cIs drop out of school at the age of eighteen.
$|a;~m> @`|)Ia< At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in
Q2s&L]L= Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical
c tI{^f: talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave

her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers
u~F ~cDu Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with

8G her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York
!wh&>3~ Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five
'fY9a(Xt. days under live conditions, with a group of musicians
#a,9B -X organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was

released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November
#I% s 3 2007 in the United States and Japan.
WY>Knp= z"379b7cN At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through
T~ k)uQ Germany and the United States. On her American tour she
!LIlt`ag9 performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January
9DE)S)e8 2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman,
$1 @,Qor and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig
T bf:eVIG Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June
MYdx .NZT 2008 the singer started her second tour through the
U<bYFuS" United States and Canada.

:"'nK6> On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second
Zdn! qyR` album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in
h-mTj3p-K Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She
D:E9!l' is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band
P!<[U!<hH includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell
,rO[mNk9@ (guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson
Z[ZDQ o1 (keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine
g7V_ [R(6 Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and
<B[G |FY, composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and
m ,tXE%l will be released at the end of September 2008 by
