AcH-TIgM/ taste was influenced by her father's large selection of
;5S dx5`_ vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny
*G19fJ[5 Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father,
}s }g}t8v- who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering
<)VgGjZ-H in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a
!U^{`V jp[ first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to

@O drop out of school at the age of eighteen.
S#/%#k103 *pKTJP At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in
g68p9#G Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical

sXIYl% d her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York
a{5SOe;; Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five
#z `W ,^C days under live conditions, with a group of musicians
^J'_CA organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was
/ ;]5X released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November
ht3.e[%'b 2007 in the United States and Japan.

.Mt3e c< Germany and the United States. On her American tour she

*r7v Dc 2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman,
1\.$=N and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig
7},A. q Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June
!g svF\XDM 2008 the singer started her second tour through the

?e7]U*jEU album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in
c`;\sW-_W Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She

\Cb JU includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell
