E3<jH vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny
,B(UkPGT Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father,

zm-j FY ? in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a
TR L4r_ first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to

drop out of school at the age of eighteen.
P%z\^\p"5 T^B&GgW At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in
p+ SFeUp Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical
iA3d[%tBb talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave
j0B, \A her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers
" ^u Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with
LY'_ U0y4 Polydor Records.
?7 e|gpQ| _iLXs Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded
X aW@CW her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York
iJv4%|9 Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five
b#(S DNo6 days under live conditions, with a group of musicians
[yM{A<\L organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was
c[}h( jkP released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November
C '4u+r aq 2007 in the United States and Japan.
:~3sW< P R I & l 1b> At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through
"#z4 Germany and the United States. On her American tour she
ck>|p09q'9 performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January
BQ{Gp 2N 2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman,
](a*R and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig
"%dWBvuO Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June
HK) $ls 2008 the singer started her second tour through the
j*t>CB4 United States and Canada.
[wG?&l$.KB t Q_;UQlX On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second
g6 o-/A!Q3 album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in
*M\Qt_[ Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She
UeV2`zIg` is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band
D-\\L[ includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell

(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson
r VowHP (keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine
x.qn$?3V] Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and
?`V%[~4_I composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and
?v Pw I will be released at the end of September 2008 by
ny%-u &1k Universal Music France.
