At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short YP5V~-O/  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself gR )xw)!  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her !:'%'@uc  
first song, which was about her mother, and which helped $2~I-[  
her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical #"jEc*&=  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of g!,>.  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny ^0Cr-  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, 8F9sKRq|rO  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering 4en[!*  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a MR}GxI  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to -NGY+

drop out of school at the age of eighteen. n3SCiSr

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in F]:@?}8R  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical /{g

talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave /4}{SE  
her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers A(S=  
Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with Yg3Vj=

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded ZaIlo5  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York fo;Ftf0  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five EZ15  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians ]2`PS<a2  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was -Jr6aai3+  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November ^rO3B?_

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through 38ChS.(  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she @)owj^sA  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January @*`9!K%  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, # xx{}g]%  
and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig |]kcgLqj  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June |1 iCt1~U  
2008 the singer started her second tour through the z~i=\/~tZ

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second } Wx#"6  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in ?=}~]A5N  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She w 4-E@>%  
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band %eW[`uyV  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell A2LqBirkl  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson 5v<X-8"  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine ;<i`6e  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and c'ExZ)RJ  
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and n#8N{ya5x1  
will be released at the end of September 2008 by U>PF#@ C/
