to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her OKue" p

her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical 3}Xc71|v  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of LK7Xw3  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny 6F0(aGs  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, v"6 \=@  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering  mw$ Y  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a .J.vC1 4gi  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to wrv5V M}  
drop out of school at the age of eighteen. =]>%t]

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in ?m%h`<wgMc  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical %e%7oqR?  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave XX;6 P  
her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers Pe^!$  
Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with mf$j03tu

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded 4SVW/Zl.?  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York Di(9]:+  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five VV3}]GjC  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians p]|LV)R n  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was *o?i:LE]  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November Fz"ff4Bx [

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through M@7Xp)S"  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she RIy\u>  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January r|Zi3+  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, [1Dm<G u@  
and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig "ED8z|]j  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June MK$Jj "  
2008 the singer started her second tour through the q? z>

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second R{}qK r  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in G2Qjoe`Uc  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She DZ`k[Z.VZ  
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band %efGt6&  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell " ~Q*XN2  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson 4br6 $  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine U6j/BJT"  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and lgD]{\O$ip  
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and &"S/Lt
