~+*Vd~U Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father,
5S4 Nx> who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering
<#:i ltO in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a
:$G ^TD/n first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to
:rr<#F drop out of school at the age of eighteen.
Nf4@m|# aG7 Lm2{c" At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in
OAkqPG& w Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical
N6[Z*5efR talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave
'gN[ LERT her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers
h Wt_}' Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with
L[ zTT\a Polydor Records.
>(2;(TbQm0 ) P7 oL.) Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded

v& ;Z her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York
([email protected] Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five
F42^ Uoaz days under live conditions, with a group of musicians
0Y0z7A: organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was
~Xx}:@Ld released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November
HHx5 VI 2007 in the United States and Japan.
]f Y:+Ru !v3d:n\W8 At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through
F~v0CBcAL Germany and the United States. On her American tour she
F4=X(P_6 performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January
p!E*A NwX 2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman,
T7qp ({v?Q and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig
&kf \[|y Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June
=?CIC%6m 2008 the singer started her second tour through the
.P8m%$'N United States and Canada.
)E",)}Nh *vNA m(\N On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second
W DnNVE album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in
[Qr _0O Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She
rE "FN~9P is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band
