At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short 5jx{O${u  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself >tib21*  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her !l.Rv_o<O  
first song, which was about her mother, and which helped iLv"ZqGrw  
her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical =k3QymA  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of 5'+g'9  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny PcDPRX!@  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, >a_K:O|AJ  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering Cv;z^8PZJz  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a FY#`]124*  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to F^A1'J  
drop out of school at the age of eighteen. Q6Jb]>g\H

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in 6\~m{@  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical oY+RG|j@  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave A{&Etu(K  
her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers .!)7x3|$[  
Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with BN#^ /a-

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded f4@Dn >BJ  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York {a%T <WW  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five ~)oC+H@{  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians 6JK;]Ah  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was TN/I(pkt1B  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November L d#

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through pjjs'A*y  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she r8Gq\

performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January LjxTRtB_  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, F\,3z7s  
and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig Y`lC4*g  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June f)"O( c  
2008 the singer started her second tour through the e[Q(OV5(R  
United States and Canada. ^+,mxV'8!

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second H(?z?2b p  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in u@==Ut  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She 'e{e>>03  
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band 4:[email protected]  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell {/R4Q1  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson NbkWy  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine |$bZO`^  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and |6_<4lmTxF  
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and n-H0cm  
will be released at the end of September 2008 by H3`%#wQ0j
