At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short =23JE '^=  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself M`^;h:DN^  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her 0].*eM  
first song, which was about her mother, and which helped gwHNz5 a*V  
her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical TNs;#Q  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of  (o`"s~)  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny $w!; ~s  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, AT.WXP0$A  
who worked part-time as a DJ while studying engineering PO9<g%qTf  
in Germany, discovered her singing talent he recorded a c@iP^;D  
first demo tape with her in a studio and allowed her to "uK`!{  
drop out of school at the age of eighteen. N]qX^RSb

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in =73""ry  
Paris and New York. During her time in Paris her musical nu|paA  
talent was noticed by a broader audience, and she gave l{OU\  
her first solo concerts, opened 2002 for soul singers Hp`Mp)1s  
Omar and Cody Chesnutt, and signed a contract with 9;,_Qq

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded aI @&x  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York t<'-?B2g  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five ^@V$'Bk  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians ,#;%ILF4%  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was 2Hltgt,  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November %heX06  
2007 in the United States and Japan. [;O 6)W

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through 7I.7%m,g  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she M`{x*qR  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January 57:Wh=x  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, 5\1C@d  
and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig B1\@ n$  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June PP{2{  
2008 the singer started her second tour through the ~xz3- a/  
United States and Canada. &Z Ja}5k!r

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second 'J*)o<%  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in ,":l >0P[  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She %) A-zzj  
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band JUBihw4  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell }M%U}k]+@  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson ){=2td$=$  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine Q)pm3Wi  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and 9D 2B8t"a  
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and TM_ MJp  
will be released at the end of September 2008 by -.#He
