At the age of six Ayo. played the violin for a short ' 'UiQ  
time, then turned to the piano and later taught herself {v;Y}o-p  
to play the guitar. When she was about 15, she wrote her 7OC,KgJ3  
first song, which was about her mother, and which helped m]7yc>uDy  
her to cope with her traumatic childhood. Her musical hs<7(+a  
taste was influenced by her father's large selection of *RxbqB-  
vinyl albums which included Pink Floyd, Fela Kuti, Donny .%WbXs  
Hathaway, Jimmy Cliff and Bob Marley. When her father, d+2I+O03

At twenty-one Ayo. moved to London and later lived in )v

Shortly after giving birth to her son Nile, she recorded lpSM p  
her first album Joyful in January 2006 in the New York )2bPu[U  
Sony studio. The whole disc was recorded in just five 0_"J>rMp  
days under live conditions, with a group of musicians U6.$F#n  
organized by her producer Jay Newland. The album was V\ARe=IWM  
released in June 2006 in Europe and Korea and in November x,>@IEN7

At the end of 2007 Ayo. started a concert tour through (U$ F) 7  
Germany and the United States. On her American tour she u ERc\TZ  
performed with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. On 10 January ]dk~C?H  
2008 she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, Rfa1v*(  
and on January 26, 2008 the Late Late Show with Craig n~K_|  
Ferguson, performing her song Down on My Knees. In June s=U_tfpH  
2008 the singer started her second tour through the ZL1[Khr,s

On 10 March 2008 Ayo. started recording on her second F5+f?B~?R?  
album Gravity At Last at the Compass Point Studios in n6L}#aZG  
Nassau on the Island of New Providence, The Bahamas. She uiDR}   
is co-producing the album with Jay Newland. Her band z4{|?0=C  
includes Keith Christopherson (bass), Larry Campbell !\?? [1_e  
(guitars and other string instruments), Lucky Peterson -f Zm_FE  
(keyboards), Sherrod Barnes (guitar/vocals) and Jermaine bhuA,}  
Parrish (drums). The album with 13 tracks written and J,+| Fb  
composed by the singer was recorded in only 5 days and }ZvL% 4jT  
will be released at the end of September 2008 by aQinR "o
